Central Stores Receiver [Canada]


 

Applications are invited for the position of Central Stores Receiver in the Culinary, Tourism & Beverage Studies Division, located at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus. The starting hourly rate is $31.22/hr for a 24 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Reporting to the Academic Operations Manager, the Central Stores Receiver coordinates all product coming into Central Stores – ensuring all products are checked for quality that meets the minimum standards set by CTBS and that products arrive with appropriate paperwork including purchase orders, and inventoried following FIFO standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the receiving off all food, beverage, paper, equipment items coming into Central Stores
  • Compare purchase orders to invoices in determining any discrepancies in relation to quantity, quality and shortages
  • Determine immediate course of action related to substitutions and in how to backfill any shortages needed to be immediately filled
  • Utilize best practices by using FIFO while maintaining proper inventory par levels
  • Assist the Central Stores team in building carts and delivering to labs as required
  • Complete all the required paperwork and provide support to the Central Stores Administrator
  • Assist in yearly inventory counts

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) year diploma in Culinary or related field of study
  • Minimum three (3) years in a related food service environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift light/heavy boxes or equipment throughout their shift
