We are a leading construction company based in Singapore, having established strong ties with government agencies and main-contractor companies over more than two decades of commitment. With a strong commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM) systems, rules, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities
1. Operations Oversight:
- Lead and supervise the operational teams, including site supervisors, project coordinators, and administrative staff.
- Develop and implement efficient operational strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth project execution and delivery of services.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to optimize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Accounts Management and Finance, to ensure alignment and effective coordination of operational activities.
2. Compliance with MOM Systems, Rules, and SOPs:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of MOM systems, rules, and SOPs relevant to the construction industry.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable MOM regulations and requirements, including work permit applications, foreign worker management, and employment-related matters.
- Monitor changes in MOM regulations and promptly update internal processes and procedures to remain compliant.
- Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to SOPs and implement corrective actions where necessary.
3. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze operational data, generate reports, and identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI metrics to monitor operational performance.
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to management, highlighting operational achievements, challenges, and recommended solutions.
4. Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate operational workflows and identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
- Streamline communication and information flow among different teams and stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
5. Team Development:
- Train and mentor operational staff, promoting a high-performance culture and fostering professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement training and development plans as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry, with a solid understanding of MOM systems, rules, and SOPs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis and reporting skills.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
