1. Available position:
A senior assistant professor or an assistant professor (If you are hired into an assistant professor position, your
term of office is 5 years. Based on the performance examination during the term of office, you may be reappointed

2. Affiliation
The faculty hired in this open recruitment will belong to Department of Information Science in the Faculty of
Engineering.
3. Specialized field
Being active in the fields related to computer engineering including computer system, software, computer
network, high performance computing, perceptual information processing, data science, etc.
4. Teaching responsibilities
[Graduate Programs]
Master’s Program: One course related to the applicant’s specialized fields
Doctor’s Program: One course related to the applicant’s specialized fields (For a Senior Assistant Professor)
[Undergraduate Program]
Two or more courses related to programming and common educational subjects related to computer software.
You will be also in charge of practical training and general educational subjects related to the applicant’s
specialized fields in Japanese.

As soon as possible after March 1st, 2024
6. Qualifications
Applicants are needed to satisfy all of the following requirements:
(1) [Senior Assistant Professor Application] Holding a doctorate or an equivalent degree by the time the
appointment begins.
[Assistant Professor Application] Must be expected to obtain a doctorate or an equivalent degree within five
years from the start of employment.
(2) Having educational and research achievements in the above specialized fields and subjects.
(3) Being energetic in the research activities and capable of guiding students’ research and educating students
passionately.

8. Compensation
Salary will be individually determined based on employment history, etc., in accordance with regulations of
the University of Fukui.
