Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will be the HR Manager providing support and leadership on the HR Talent Strategy to the Capital Markets and RBC BlueBay businesses across our continental European offices.

Continental European offices include Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland (circa 150 employees).

In particular, you will support delivery on the business strategies of the business agenda through the development, advancement and execution of RBC people objectives and solutions.

You will be primarily leading the HR agenda for Capital Markets, RBC BlueBay and supporting functions businesses in continental Europe.

The HR Manager provides direct guidance to stakeholders across the business on all aspects of workforce management, talent management, leadership development, employee development and performance management. All elements of this mandate will be completed in partnership with and through the support of Centres of Expertise (COEs) and HR Teams globally.

What will you do?

  • Support the D&I strategy through strategic, consultative advice and partnership to business leaders. Sit on the European Diversity Leadership Committee (EG DLC)

  • Partner with senior Leaders to advance the talent review and succession processes to ensure the most effective use of talent. Provide developmental assignments or appropriate learning interventions. Align to broader Annual Talent Processes (ATP) to meet broader HR deliverables.

  • Partnering with the business on transformation programmes and driving associated people change initiatives, including target operating model review, spans and layers, culture programmes.

  • Provide guidance and direction on compensation processes with businesses leaders and contribute to the development and evolution of compensation strategies through knowledge of HR policies, legislation, regulation to support good governance.

  • Provide leadership and direction in establishing performance management and driving a performance enablement culture to align with the broader business strategy and culture. Support a reward for performance culture and alignment to the broader regulatory requirements.

  • Lead with the business in assessing and strengthening leadership depth and employee capability through support of integrated leadership programs and development opportunities.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Demonstrable experience working as an HR Business Partner.

  • Exposure to European Markets - as a minimum, France, and ideally Germany - and an understanding of the legislation that underpins these markets.

  • Foundational knowledge of payroll systems in France and ideally Germany / Luxembourg.

  • An understanding of the regulatory regime as it relates to Investment Banking businesses.

  • Ability to partner and influence key stakeholders and navigate a global organisation.

  • Demonstrable experience of managing competing priorities in a complex organisation.
